Two reasons to be satisfied at Edelman: this year, the jury for the Econ Award for corporate communications highlighted two projects headed by the communications service provider. Silver went to the DSIGN customer newsletter by the dental company Dentsply Sirona, while the 2017 management report of the chemicals company Covestro took gold.

DSIGN is a magazine for dental surgeries which Edelman created for Dentsply Sirona on the occasion of the IDS dental trade fair in 2017. This high-quality brochure profiles dental surgeries world-wide and offers dentists inspiration in designing their premises to ensure that patients feel at ease there. This alone was a useful idea, according to the jury explanation. The experts praised the quality aesthetics, impressive graphics and appealing text. All of these factors made DSIGN a source of inspiration which is appealing. “We are very proud to receive such recognition for the DSIGN”, claims Susanne Schmidinger, Director Product Management Dentsply Sirona Treatment Centers. The fact that this is also honoured outside the dental sector by top-class specialists in corporate communication underlines the value of this customer newsletter.

The jury also emphasised the text quality in its awarding of the Covestro management report which Edelman was also involved in. On each page, it is apparent how Covestro Deutschland AG fills its corporate values with life and what makes it so successful, according to the experts’ opinions. The conclusive presentation of its strategic and financial goals is perfectly aligned towards the stakeholders’ interests. For Covestro as a young company and DAX newcomer, the management report is an important element of communication. “This helps us to increase our prominence and portray our corporate goal of making the world a better place to live in. We are delighted that the quality of the management report has also been confirmed by an independent jury”, claims Matthias Poth, Global Head of Corporate Communications at Covestro.

“I am particularly delighted by the fact that in both projects the jury emphasised our orientation towards the target group”, adds Ernst Primosch, CEO Edelman Deutschland. Whether a magazine or a management report – in the end, relevance is the decisive factor when it comes to being noticed in the surplus of information available.

The Econ Award is presented every year by Econ Verlag and the Handelsblatt Group. It has been distinguishing the best corporate communication within German-speaking areas since 2007.
