Edelman Germany has appointed Nils Giese to its management team as Managing Director Healthcare. His focus will be on the expansion of the global healthcare business out of Germany. In his role, Nils Giese will report to Christiane Schulz, CEO Edelman Germany.

"The Corona pandemic has elevated healthcare topics, provided a digitalisation boost and significantly changed the communication needs in the industry. What counts more than ever is transparent and empathetic communication that creates trust.

We are delighted to have Nils on board, an experienced marketing, brand and communications strategist who brings with him precisely the integrated consulting experience that our clients value so highly. With his knowledge, Nils will contribute to strongly advancing our growth strategy in the healthcare sector – especially on an international level,"

says Christiane Schulz, CEO Edelman Germany.

"The topic of healthcare is not only on everyone's lips at the moment, but above all it is changing. This makes healthcare one of the most exciting industries. In no other industry does 'people & need' meet so much 'innovation & solutions'. However, bringing people and brands together requires more than the classic problem-solution-push-paid method of communication," says Nils Giese.

Before joining Edelman, Nils was Executive Director Strategy/Head of Strategy at Saatchi & Saatchi in Düsseldorf. In this role, he led the Strategy Department and was responsible for the strategic direction for Saatchi's Health & Beauty Hub, as well as the global strategic direction for clients such as Sanofi, Sanofi Pasteur, Merck and GSK. Since 2011, Nils has held various other local and global positions as a planner at Saatchi & Saatchi in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Geneva.

"Edelman understands that to move HCPs, patients and consumers, you have to enter into a trusting, active AND creative dialogue. I call this story-caring! I am therefore very happy to be able to actively shape the future agenda of Germany's No. 1 agency in healthcare communications – together with a great team,"

says Nils Giese about his role at Edelman.
