As Account Director, he manages the Digital Financial Communication Unit at Edelman Germany. In this position, he primarily manages financial customers with digital business models. His focus is on the digital transformation of the financial communications offerings of Edelman Germany.

Holger Handstein is specialized on the development and implementation of creative content strategies for companies in the financial sector. His emphasis there is on integrated content marketing in the digital realm. He believes that quality and relevance of all marketing and communications strategies have to be measured on whether they are able to generate a return on investment.

Holger Handstein studied journalism and German in Dortmund. After completing his degree, he received a scholarship from the university to earn a doctorate. Alongside this, he worked freelance for print and online media channels before moving to a finance portal of the consumer advice center of North Rhine-Westphalia as a Community Manager. He also built up his own finance website, der-privatanleger.de, which he sold in early 2017. He has worked for Edelman and its predecessor ergo Kommunikation since 2011.

He firmly believes that nothing is more practical than a good theory - and that even the best idea is only really good if it gets implemented.
